When I was 16, I finally gave in to skinny jeans, and even embraced boyfriend jeans, flared trousers and the high waisted cigarette pants in the following years. Now it is time to go back to those early teens, in which I wore only straight and slightly wider denim! These awkward-fitting jeans are totally back, with a vintage wash and frayed edges to underline the late 90s/early 2000s vibe. I picked up this pair at & Other Stories last week, and immediately felt like moving to California when I wore them with white sneakers and even flip flops.
The finishing touch of this throwback outfit is that cute Minnie Mouse tee. Although Disneyland is definitely my happy place, I usually avoid featuring anything Disney-related in my looks. I’m not twelve, right? But for this late 90s celebration, I’m more than happy to throw in a vintage-looking Minnie — maybe because it is designed by style-slayer Victoria Beckham? If Posh approves, I’ll wear it.
